Legal Assistant

The Legal Assistant will provide legal administrative and secretarial support to the Vice President and General Counsel and the Legal Team. Duties and responsibilities include: Prepare legal documents including commercial real estate leases, trade mark agreements, and corporate contracts and correspondence; Organize and maintain file systems, file correspondence, and other records; Conduct trademark availability searches; Keep flawless records and handle confidential information on a regular basis with professionalism and discretion; Conduct research and spearhead special projects in preparation for board meetings; Maintain calendars, schedules and coordinate meetings/conference calls of Legal team; Coordinate intricate travel arrangements and create detailed itineraries; and Distribute incoming mail, reports, and correspondence. The qualified candidate should possess the following: Associates/Bachelors degree and or Legal Assistant/Paralegal certificate preferred; 1-3 years office/administrative legal support required; Solid prioritization, organization, time management, and follow up abilities; Strong attention to detail; Exposure to general commercial contracts, litigation matters (including class action claims), and intellectual property matters (including trademark and copyright) is preferred; Expert written and communication skills; Knowledge of Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; Experience in MS Outlook calendar management required.

Product Development Technician

This role is responsible for the measure, fit, and approval of final garment construction and specifications including apparel color, fit and trim. This individual would manage all vendor-to-buyer communication and buyer feedback regarding apparel specifications. This position would also manage fit model sessions and prepare size specifications, communicate to vendors regarding fit recommendations, approve color and fabric specifications, keep accurate records of fit sessions, samples and communication regarding product specifications, and receive timely TOP samples from vendors on all styles. Qualifications include: a degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field or commensurate retail apparel experience; excellent organizational and communication skill; drive vendors specification with the highest degree of detail and speed of execution; and understanding and appreciation for fashion, fabrics and garment construction.

District Manager - Coastal Carolinas; Boise, ID; Savannah, GA; Texas; Boston, MA; Omaha, NE; Southern California; New Orleans, LA

rue21 is looking for District Managers to supervise multi-store districts to ensure customer satisfaction and profitable business growth. The qualified candidates must be able to: Drive and maximize sales goals, while controlling shrink and payroll; Foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation; Establish, teach, and demonstrate exceptional customer service through training, development and lead by example; Ensure high standard for visual presentation, store layouts and overall cleanliness are maintained; Ensure company policies and procedures, including cash control, shipping/receiving, and safety are constantly followed; Recruit, develop, and retain qualified associates to ensure staffing needs are met. Job Requirements include: Extensive multi-store retail management experience required; A minimum of 5-years District Management experience with proven results; Strong networking, recruiting, training, visual merchandising and operational skills; Effective written and verbal communication skills with stores, Regional Director and Corporate Office; Strong aptitude for interpreting retail data and applying solutions as problems arise; and The ability to adapt to change and assume added responsibilities.

Assistant Buyer

Support the Buyers in all product selection, price negotiation and purchasing decisions of the Merchandising Department. Manage formal communication to the vendors regarding purchase orders and changes. Work with vendors and buyers to support negotiation of PO terms including cost. Update PO system for retail changes, cost changes and extension dates. Maintain and update Open-to-buy/recap sheets daily, weekly and monthly. Communicate with Distribution Center on problems related to order shipping issues. Analyze reports and make recommendation for merchandise re-orders. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing or Business degree preferred; previous assistant buying experience required; proficient in Word and Excel; must be detailed oriented and able to multi-task, excellent communication skills, and previous retail apparel experience.

Senior Programmer Analyst

The Senior Programmer Analyst will support the company by designing, programming, testing, implementing and maintaining software applications and reports. Work with non-technical business users to create practical solutions for streamlining business processes, using established Software Development Life Cycle methods. Responsibilities include: Design, code, test and maintain applications/web applications utilizing: Microsoft .NET 3.0 (ASP.NET, AJAX, XML), SQL, Server 2005/2008 platforms, Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010, Microsoft SharePoint/Office platforms; Design, build and maintain reports using SQL Server 2005/2008 Reporting Services (SSRS) and Integration Services (SSIS); Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC including: Meet with business associates at all levels to gather project requirements; Write functional and technical specification documents; Develop and follows detailed test plans for unit, system and user acceptance testing; Work effectively with small teams and consultants to develop and implement applications; Maintain and support existing applications and systems; Coach and mentor junior programmers/programmer analysts; Prepare and communicate project status to senior staff; Provide “on call”/off hours support of critical production applications when necessary. Should possess the following qualifications: 5-10 years web/stand-alone, database-driven application development experience using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technologies required; Working knowledge of Windows Server/IIS, administering SQL Server, DB2 400, AS/400 menus and utilities, and Crystal Reports a plus; Experience with a formal enterprise business intelligence/data warehousing tool; Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision, with excellent time management, prioritization and communication skills; Experienced with gathering requirements from retail business associates and transforming them into a technical design; Retail industry knowledge; Computer Science or Business Administration degree preferred.

Payroll Representative

This position will effectively handle the data-entry and processing of weekly payroll for assigned stores, communicate with stores and field management regarding issues and changes, and adhere to set deadline while upholding accuracy in all processed information. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: reconcile weekly payroll for approximately 100-150 store locations in various states while following existing laws and regulations for assigned states; and ensure that paychecks are processed on time while verifying the accuracy of check counts. Requirements for this position include high school diploma, associates degree is preferred; one to three years accounting, bookkeeping, time and attendance and/or payroll experience; knowledge of related federal, state and payroll regulations; excellent mathematical, quantitative and problem solving skills; ability to balance, prioritize and meet strict deadlines; and knowledge of excel, outlook and payroll based programs.

Mailroom Associate

The Mailroom Associate will assist with all mailroom functions including mail distribution, ordering office supplies, postage machine maintenance, general building maintenance, and mailroom organization. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: working with FedEx as it relates to all mailroom functions; tracking and resolving all missing and not delivered mail packs and general package issues; monitoring and repairing/resolving all general maintenance issues in the Support Center; sorting and delivering all incoming mail; and insuring that all store and field personal mail packs are sent and received as scheduled. Requirements for this position include: general mailroom experience, ability to work independently, ADA, lifting boxes 20lbs or less, strong sense of urgency, personable demeanor and excellent organizational skills.

Director of Technical Services

This role will be responsible for supervising the Data Center, Network, Computer Operations and Help Desk team to ensure the support and efficient operation of the company’s systems. Will work closely with the IT executive staff and decision makers in other departments in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support our systems with a focus on high availability. Requirements include: 10+ years infrastructure experience in computer operations, server, network and help desk management experience in a retail environment; 7+ years management experience with direct accountability for performance management and career development of subordinates; Experienced with AS/400 operations, network server management and data communications; 4 year degree in Computer Science or Business Administration; and Retail IT data center operations and help desk management experience preferred.

Allocation Manager

The Manager of Allocation will be in a tactical leadership role, with a focus on the day-to-day management of the allocation/distribution of merchandise from the distribution center to stores. This position would work closely with the Buying, Planning and Field teams to determine inventory targets and merchandise flow needs that support the financial objectives of each classification of product in the accessory area. Duties and Responsibilities include overseeing the development and maintenance of allocation strategies and targets for the accessory division of product with a focus accuracy and timeliness, making recommendations to the Buying and Planning team on product receipt needs to ensure that sales are maximized in all store locations, ensure delivery of the financial objectives of each area through accurate and proactive management and forecasting of sales and inventory levels in each store by classification of product, develop and deliver merchandise analysis at a store and market level to inform and guide decision making, including weekly analysis and insights into product and store sales performance. Qualified candidates must possess 3-5 years related work experience in Allocation and/or Store Planning, with a minimum of 3 years of Allocation experience, a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, passion for retail, a desire to help build a best in class allocation organization, experience working in a high volume, fast paced, specialty retail environment, strong Microsoft Excel skills, analytical aptitude and attention to detail, proven ability to build productive cross-functional relationships, and experience in leading and developing a team

Merchandise Planning Assistant

The Merchandise Planning Assistant will partner with the Merchandise Planner to develop, manage and project category level buying plans. The individual in this position will make long term buying recommendations and decisions that will support planned volume by merchandise category, as well as react to shifts in business by category to keep markdowns and over or under inventory situations to a minimum to protect and grow business sales and profitability. Other responsibilities for the Merchandise Planning Assistant include: Building, managing and shifting financial buying plans and the open-to-buy levels at the category level; In season projections - recommending adjustments to sales, mark downs and flow based on business trends and product performance; Developing pre-season and in-season buying financial plans for sku’s, programs, and categories; Providing strategic direction to ensure increased sales and profitability; Analyzing promotional strategies to determine profitability and make recommendations for improvement; Developing projections and ensure that orders are placed for core and key items; Managing markdowns to maximize sales and maintain profitability; Work cross-functionally with the merchandising, allocation, and visual/marketing teams to achieve sales and profitability plans and goals; Develop exit and entrance strategies for new, seasonal, and replenished products. Qualifications include: College degree and/or equivalent office experience; detail oriented and ability to multi-task; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required; accuracy when working with numbers; interest in retail and retail office experience a must; ability to communicate with different levels of management.

Merchandise Buyer

The Merchandise Buyer is responsible for creating, developing and implementation of the merchandise strategy which includes leading the buying team, defining product assortments and strategizing and executing business plans to maximize sales, margins and turnover. Requirements include college degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Finance, Mathematics or related field preferred; experience in softlines and/or junior apparel preferred; five years buying experience; successful track record in growing the business and maintaining margins; and proficient in Word and Excel.

Project Leader

The Project Leader will align with Business, IT, and External partners to support improved processes with Technology. Solutions that drive the growth and objectives of rue21. The Project leader will be responsible for all aspects of the Software Development. Life Cycle (SDLC) including but not limited to the following: Provide analytical, technical, business and/or management expertise to the project team. Serve as a change agent for the business and project. Provide the executive management with options and associated benefits / risks when evaluating the process technology solutions. 3-5 years business analysis/project lead experience in a Retail IT environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Works effectively under pressure, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and can work without direct supervision. 4 year degree in Computer Science or Business Administration. Working knowledge of RPG IV and or SQL CL preferred.

Merchandise Allocator

This entry-level position will assist the Merchandise Allocation Analyst with order entry, merchandising analysis and ad hoc reporting requests. Responsibilities include data-entry of allocations, merchandising weekly breakdown of allocations for distributing, updating new store charts/reports, and preparing selling recaps. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, accurate with numbers, well organized, possess excellent computer and communication skills, and handle multiple tasks in a very fast-paced environment. Merchandise Planner

This position will work closely with the Buying, and Allocation teams to develop and review assortment plans and manage OTB strategies. This role works as an integral part of the Merchandising and Planning and Allocation teams by identifying risks and opportunities and making recommendations to ensure that we are maximizing the profitability of the assortment. Qualifications included: 3-5 years related work experience in Planning and/or Allocation, with a minimum of 3 years of planning experience; experience working in a high volume, fast paced, specialty retail environment; strong Microsoft Excel skills; proven ability to build productive cross-functional relationships; experience working both independently and in a team oriented environment; and strong attention to detail.

Accounts Payable Associate

This position will work along side the Accounting Department to contribute to the ongoing success of our stores. Responsibilities include processing invoices, generating payments, accurate filing of documents, making daily communication with internal customers and vendors. Requirements include proficiency in Excel, excellent communication skills, familiarity with computer systems and ability to be both detail oriented and handle multiple tasks. Previous accounts payable experience a plus.
